As an NCAA-approved speaker, I have had the opportunity to speak at a variety of schools and institutions across the country. Here are a few recommendations and testimonials from my hosts:

Aaron Cooksey recently spoke to my team here at the University of Georgia and I can’t say enough about the excellent job he did.

Aaron puts a new spin on speaking about alcohol awareness through his own personal experiences and I would highly recommend him for any organization but especially college athletics. You will not be disappointed!

-Mark Richt, Head Football Coach, University of Georgia

This past June, the Ohio State football family had the opportunity to hear a powerful message from Aaron Cooksey.

Our number one problem on college campuses is alcohol. Aaron’s message graphically told of the consequences of poor decisions and alcohol.

I would highly recommend Aaron! He kept the attention of our team and made an impact on many! Your group would benefit from his story!

-Jim Tressel, former Head Football Coach, The Ohio State University

…On behalf of my department and the TCU campus, I would like to thank Aaron Cooksey for his frank and thought=provoking presentation. The students who heard him speak were touched by his openness and honesty, as well as his apparent passion to prevent others from making the same mistakes.

-Yvonne Lin Giovanis, M.Ed., Associate Director, Alcohol & Drug Education Center, Texas Christian University

I was privileged to attend a powerful presentation, “Drop Your Pride… Too Many Have Died” given by Aaron Cooksey at Mount Union College. I would like to take this opportunity to highly recommend Mr. Cooksey to others.

Mr. Cooksey addressed the number one problem on college campuses – alcohol misuse. He shared his own story of alcohol use and poor decision-making which resulted in tragic consequences.

The students at Mount Union College appeared to be fully engaged and greatly impacted by this presentation. The presentation promoted discussion and conversation for several days following the presentation.

On behalf of Mount Union College I would like to thank Aaron Cooksey for an inspirational and eye opening talk that was given to our first year students. They appreciated his openness and honesty, as well as, his apparent passion to help others learn from his mistake.

-Kelleen J. Weber, MAEd, LPCCS, LCDCIII, Director of Alcohol Drug and Wellness Education, Mount Union College

We recently invited Aaron Cooksey to Catholic University to talk to our student-athletes about important issues related to alcohol and drug use. Aaron had come highly recommended from a number of colleagues at other universities.

Aaron’s presentation was very powerful and informative. He uses a comfortable presentation style, mixed with emotion and appropriate humor to truly captivate his audience. He doesn’t preach to the students with familiar rhetoric, but rather uses his own story to deliver important messages about decision making and the consequences of our actions. I have no question that his presentation impacted our student-athletes and their future choices in a positive way.

The feedback from students and coaches who attended the presentation was overwhelmingly positive. We would highly recommend Aaron to other schools.

-Michael Allen, Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics, The Catholic University of America

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how appreciative we are of your presentation to our student athletes. We have heard many positive comments from the student athletes, as well as the coaches and administrators that were in attendance. Your story was very heartfelt, compelling and thought provoking, which was evident in the reaction of the audience. They were engaged the entire time, sometimes laughing and sometimes even moved to tears.

Your approach to speaking to audiences about the dangers and consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol is unique. The student athletes were able to relate to your story because most have been in similar situations where they have to make the decision on whether or not to “drop their pride” and not get behind the wheel. We feel confident that after hearing your message that they will be better prepared and willing to “make the next best decision.”

Our student athletes and administration would highly recommend your program to any athletic department or other organizations that are looking for alcohol awareness programming in the future. Once again, thank you from Radford University Athletics for your dedication to improving the health and safety of our student athletes and University.

-Robert Lineburg, Director of Athletics, Radford University

Aaron tells his audience how one mistake or one accident will change your life forever and really mean it. He is remorseful, wanting resolution. Aaron tells his story with candor and charisma. And he can still do this while dealing with a world of hurt.

Aaron is not a cliché. He lived it. There is no B.S. He went to jail for 4 years, driver’s license taken for life. His story is incredible. Aaron’s presentation “Drop Your Pride…Too Many Have Died – Don’t Drink and Drive,” was outstanding. His openness and honesty touched many of our student-athletes.

I recommend Aaron Cooksey without any reservations. A very powerful message, done with clarity and transparency.

-Tic Price, Athletics Coordinator, Lamar University
